Work From Home Business Plans

I am going to start with a shocking announcement – I have not written any kind of business plan for any venture I’ve undergone.

Don’t get me wrong – I am an expert on the process. I even wrote one for a high tech convenience store in my senior methods class in college and was recognized for the work.

So? What am I going to suggest. You need to have a business plan.

Hypocrite! No. See, your plan can be in whatever form you may want. It could be a mental checklist. I had one of those – and it was comprehensive. I researched everything to the point of obsession. You should do that too once you find a business you want into.

If you are the written type – do that! That is definitely THE SMARTEST. If you are going to try to pursue some kind of loan or financing you definitely need one of these. You can Google free business plan templates and find plenty of examples. You can also Google how to write a business plan.

I believe that any work from home business needs:

• Full support of family
• Realistic financial and personal expectations
• Set schedule of hours devoted to work
• Enough financial resources to cover the first 3 months (and hopefully more to be safe!) of your expenses if your business can be closed at any time. For most this is a viable reality even in this economic time because of the advancement of the shoestring business budget.
• If you are going into a work from home business for the long haul meaning you have a contract you cannot cancel without losing money – you need to be prepared financially for this reality.
